Sunnyside Nursery is growing and we need more people to add to our team! We are seeking seasonal part-time & full-time nursery-yard sales associates with retail experience.

Candidates must be have the ability to multi-task, be flexible, responsible, experienced, and customer facing friendly. Must have extensive horticulture knowledge, along with previous retail experience is required. Nursery Associates need to be able to learn through training, and sales training. Employees must assist with answering customer questions and guide them to the best products to fit their needs. From time to time, sales associates will also need to help unload trucks, price product, water and all of the typical things required for a retail garden center to succeed.

Must be trustworthy, motivated, dependable, and proactive.

Responsibilities:

• Effectively assist customers with a friendly, helpful and warm disposition in locating plant material and hard goods for purchase
• Properly water, groom and care of all types of trees and shrubs
• Organize and space plants, along with adjusting/replacing tags as needed
• Help unload deliveries and stock new product
• Must be able to work effectively within a team and individually
• Work effectively with other departments, as needed
• Communicate consistently and effectively with upper management and owners

Requirements:

• 3+ years nursery/horticultural/greenhouse industry experience
• Horticulture knowledge
• Retail sales experience
• Knowledge in plant identification and diagnosis
• Posses and demonstrate excellent oral communication skills
• Self-motivated, organized, proactive, dependable
• Ability to maintain healthy plant stock and recognize potential issues/problems
• Posses and demonstrate excellent problem solving and multi-tasking skills
• Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be in good physical condition to lift 30-50lbs, stand on your feet all day, work outside in all kinds of weather

Preferred but not required:

• CPH or Master Gardener Certification
• Cashiering or POS experience
